Horror collision near Portland
A Mount Gambier truck driver will stand trial later in the month, charged with killing an international tourist, and seriously injuring three others in a horror collision near Portland.
The 59-year-old appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Friday for a committal hearing.
He indicated he will plead not guilty to culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death, reckless conduct, and three counts of dangerous driving causing serious injury.
The man is accused of driving a fully-loaded log truck on the Portland-Nelson Road, north of Portland, when it smashed into stationary vehicles at road works, in March last year.
A 57-year-old woman from the UK died at the scene.
