Semi-final update

Women's Country Basketball League

Portland Coasters have been bundled out of the women's Country Basketball League premiership, losing the semi-final against Geelong Supercats at the weekend.

Playing in front of a large home crowd on Saturday night, the Coasters went into the match at full strength and confident of winning through to the grand final.

A tight contest from the first tip off, Portland held a two-point lead at half time.

A Geelong three pointer at the three-quarter-time buzzer saw the visitors take a lead at the last change, before going on to win the match 80 to 72.

Alana Strom and Taylah Nelson battled hard to score 19 points a piece in the loss.

This week's grand final will be played between Geelong and Millicent.
