Glenelg Shire

The Glenelg Shire's quest to be the country's renewable energy capital is taking shape with plans for a new wind farm project between Portland and Nelson.

Plans for a massive 900 megawatt wind and battery storage project have been proposed spanning 30km of a pine plantation.

French-owned developer Neoen is currently holding initial consultations with neighbours of the proposed Kentbruck Green Power Hub as well as with the Glenelg Shire.

Two public information sessions will be held with the drop-in session for the Nelson community held at the local CFA Hall next Monday between 2pm and 7pm.

The session for the Portland community will be held at the Portland Library on Tuesday week ..
