The Pedrina Park Pavilion construction site will reopen this week. Following a deep clean of the site and after complying with all directions of the Department of Health, works will recommence on Wednesday.

Remaining tasks to be completed at the site include full electrical fit out, connection of services, installation of the commercial kitchen, painting and installation of flooring. As always, preference will be given to local subcontractors for these works where they are available. All persons who attend the site are required to comply with the contractors COVID safe plan including having authorised permits to work in regional Victoria for those who may be required to come from Melbourne.

Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Bruach Colliton says, “Understandably there was concern in the community about the COVID exposure at Pedrina Park Pavilion construction site and we acknowledge the distress that this caused”.

“We are very fortunate that our contractor Rendine had such good COVID measures in place and ensured compliance on site. Those who did come from Melbourne were authorised to do so and followed all the requirements while they were here. We are confident that these strict measures will continue on site now that permission has been given to reopen. As with any project, preference is given to local subcontractors where they are available to complete the job. Unfortunately, it’s not always possible due to availability and time constraints”.

“The Southern Grampians community have done an amazing job so far in getting vaccinated and complying with all the mandates from the State Government over the last 18 months. These efforts are keeping all of us safe and I thank each and every person who has played their part”.

“We are really looking forward to completing the Pedrina Park Pavilion and having it open and available for use for our community in the coming months”.
