Portland

As part of a new unique art project, the Glenelg Shire Council is inviting members of the community to try on a new pair of wings and fly at the Glenelg Libraries.

Made up of hundreds of individually illustrated feathers that were designed by local residents, a set of colourful wings are currently on display in the front foyer of the Portland Library.

Yvette Parker, Library and Information Services Manager, has thanked everyone involved in the outstanding project. Parker said, ‘’We are overwhelmed by the response of the community who got involved in this project. Participants of all ages took the time over the past month to decorate their own unique feather, which is now on display for everyone to see.’’

As people come and visit, Yvette Parker is encouraging library users to ‘take a photo and share your wings with the hashtag #glenelglibraries’.
