As of Monday July 1st, the Victorian Government is banning all electronic waste from going to landfill.
This means residents cannot dispose of E-waste items in their kerbside waste or recycling bins, it must be taken to a designated collection point for disposal.
E-waste is any device that has a plug, battery or power cord, that is no longer working or wanted.
All Southern Grampians Shire transfer stations will accept E-waste, working closely with Barwon South West Waste and Resource Recovery Group to roll out education programs.
While most of these items are part of a recycling scheme and will be free to recycle, some items will incur a fee.
