No permit required for cross-border community

Here's what you need to know ...

From 11:59 on Thursday 17 June border permits are no longer required by community members in the cross-border community area between South Australia and Victoria.

Cross-border community members may cross the border without a permit on condition that they do not have COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms, are not a close contact of a person with COVID-19 and have not been to a red or orange zone in the past 14 days.

To travel without a permit, cross-border community members simply need to carry proof that they reside in a cross-border community.

Health authorities remind everyone in Victoria to get tested if they have any COVID-19 symptoms whatsoever. This advice applies to anyone in Victoria, including cross-border community members.

People living in Victoria-NSW and Victoria-South Australia border communities continue to be able to access the ‘border bubble’ – using their driver’s licence to prove their residential address (or other satisfactory documentary evidence if the person does not have a driver’s licence).

Communities on the border of Victoria and South Australia will need to use the permit system.
